ZBTHS  WebCrew Expectations

Being a member of the ZBTHS “WebCrew” provides a unique opportunity to learn computer technology support and maintenance in a ”hands on” multi-platform, networked environment.  We use an industry model in our organization with student centered leadership opportunities.  Career opportunities in the computer technology field are outstanding and our goal for the program’s student participants is to prepare them with entry-level skills, experiences and certifications.

Since members of the WebCrew are involved in the sensitive area of maintaining the school’s network, computers, and software, it is critical that they understand what the expectations are for the students involved in this program.

 Expectations

This program has as its foundation the development of the Personal Integrity of its participants. All members need to work together toward that goal in a common bond of Trust, that in turn, earns the trust of our users. Participants not complying with these expectations will not be able to continue with the WebCrew program.

The following are some of the special areas for growth and responsibility:

·       Make deliberate decisions not to engage in behavior that might adversely affect the ZBTHS technology program

·       Maintain privacy and security of users accounts

·       Be open and honest with all staff and faculty members

·       Show utmost courtesy to all staff, faculty and Tech Crew members

·       Avoid, what might be construed as, suspicious appearing activities

·       Follow the school rules to the letter, paying particular attention to the “Guidelines For Use of Computer Resources and the Internet” section of the Student Planner

·       Honor assigned responsibilities, be a willing worker, learner, and team player

·       Work to develop professional business communication and people skills

·       Protect password security

·       Don’t ask for or acquire any faculty member’s or anyone else’s password

·       Never share any passwords that you may be entrusted with

·       Respect the schools technology resources

·       Copying software, taking software, supplies, and equipment is a crime

·       You should never have school software,(including copies from any source), or hardware in your possession unless you have specific instructions to do so from an adult staff member

·       Disclosing sensitive information regarding security issues to outsiders is a breach of trust

·       Don’t get involved with individuals who break the schools technology rules

·       It is not your responsibility to police students abusing the school’s technology but if you are aware of a student who is breaking the rules please inform an adult tech staff member

·       Be proactive with Grades, Attendance, and Discipline

·       Your education is your first priority—grades and attendance are very important

·       Students having serious problems in these areas will not be able to participate in the program.

·       A probationary period may be provided for participants with less serious problems and who are willing to improve.

I understand the expectations of the WebCrew program and will abide by them.
