I totally agree with Bush in this war. The reason we went after Saddam was because he is a war criminal. Ever heard of genocide? Well, if not, it's where you kill civilians for your own pleasure (broken down Barney style). We are still on the hunt for Osama too.
For those of you who opposed this war and protested it, I just have to ask this, when all the Marines and soldiers died, did you protest their funerals? because, they died in defense of their country. I knew one of the Marines that died in Iraq. He was a really good guy. And with me being stationed in San Diego, I have talked to Marines that are back from Iraq. Some of which are injured. One Marine lost his eye due to shrapnel. And, they did this in your defense. I would give anything to be over there right now. The guys I went to boot camp with, are getting shipped over to Iraq in January. They are leaving familes behind to fight this war. But, you all are protesting them. As a U.S. Marine, I have seen this first hand. Where we die for our country, but yet when we go out in town, people turn their backs to us and boo. It is not necessarily our choice to go over their, but we do it. And the thanks we get for these actions are disappointing. Let me put the military life in perspective for you. We work 16 hour days, on less than minimum wage. We are apart from our family during the holidays. We get paid approximately $500 on the 1st and the 15th of every month. For you freshman, thats only $1000 a month. While actors get paid millions for shooting a movie, we get paid $1000 a month to take a bullet for our country. I would gladly take a bullet for any Marine, or soldier. If it meant they would be able to see their family again, I would do it. I don't have anyone besides my parents and my brother, who is also a Marine. The Marine Corps is a huge fraternity in a sense. We are a brotherhood. Every Marine in this U.S. is my brother or sister. I may never have met any of them but they are still my family. I have known some of my best friends for less than 3 months, and they are more of a friend than someone I have known my whole life. Ok, enough jibbering. I just had to vent about my feelings on how people treat the military, becase they don't understand our way of life. LCpl Rob Shipley USMC |

why iraq?
we are about 2 years into this war. i am still looking for the answer to my question. why iraq? if you recall the things that the government has told us you might get a little confused. first the government was afraid that iraq had weapons. thats fine i know that they could have been a potential threat, but then why iraq? what about north korea? north korea is the counrty that is selling the supplies to make these weapons. they should be first priority. secondly, how many time has sadaams reqime accually attacked the USA? im looking in the books and im not seeing any. (counter: sadaam has attacked our allies and that is the reason we fight back.). what ever im tired im gonna go to sleep. ill finish this later or somthin.

Re: Anti-War protest

hey nimrod . . . he's got investments in the oil business, not us getting the oil. PAY F***ING ATTENTION you DUMB @$$. It's not that he wants the oil, he wants to control the buisness so he gets the money. I'm against violence, and killing. I don't want my taxes going toward something i RELIGOUSLY don't believe in, and that is INVADING another country. I can see defending ourselves, but INVADING. If we had had the UN with us going into, and real reason for war, SURE . . .but we didn't, i think those people needed to be saved, but i think we needed to wait for the UN |
